This is a beautiful M-38 Swedish Mauser Short Rifle made by Husqvarna in 1941. This rifle is in 6.5 x 55 aka 6.5 Swedish Mauser.

In 1938, Sweden decided that to produce a short rifle to supplement their M-96 rifle. They first M-38 short rifles where produced by shortening some of heir existing M-96 long rifles. In 1941, Husqvarna received a contract to produce new made M-38 short rifles. They produced 65,000+ M-38’s until production ended in 1944.

This rifle is in Very Good+ condition. All numbers match and the bore is in excellent condition. Consult the photo of the stock dish to confirm. The rifle has a sling, front sight hood and cleaning rod included.

This is a beautiful rifle for your collection and range. Swedish Mauser are considered by some to the the best Mausers ever produced. You won’t go wrong with this one

M-38 Izhevsk, 1942, Carbine, Laminated Stock, Soviet Union, 7.62x54R, Russia

This is an M-38 Carbine made at the Izhevsk Arsenal in 1942. This is an arsenal refinished rifle in 7.62 x 54r caliber.  A “white” Soviet sling and dog collars are included.

The rifle is matching but the floor plate number on the magazine has been lined out and restamped with the correct number in the correct font. It has a true, laminated M-38 stock which is pretty rare in itself. Notice that the stock has an additional stock reinforcing bolt on the wrist of the stock and there is a small repair on the right side of the stock near the butt plate.

M-38 Mosin Nagant 1945 date Laminated Stock 7.62x54r Soviet Russian Izhevsk Rare Date Matching bolt

This is an Izhevsk 1945 dated M-38 Carbine in 7.62 X 54R caliber. It is as close to 100% as you will find. No doubt that is was arsenal refinished by the Soviets but it is unfired since it was pulled out of the crate.

Research shows that it is estimated that only between 25,000 and 50,000 1945 dated M-38s were made. The Izhevsk arsenal was changing over to M-44 production and it is speculated that they just used up their remaining inventory of M-38 barrels. Over 3.4 million M-44’s were produced in 1945.

This rifle has a laminated M-44 stock. This is the correct stock for this rifle. At the time if its manufacture, no M-38 stocks were being made. The Soviets made no distinction between M-38 and M-44 stocks because a M-38 would fit in a M-44 stock.

The bolt and magazine floorplate are electro pencil matched on this Century Arms imported rifle. The butt stock plate does not match. The butt stock does have a toe splice. The rifle comes with a Soviet canvas sling and dog collars.

You don’t see any 1945 dated M-38’s. This is the only one I have had in my possession in over 25 years of collecting Mosin Nagants. Here is your chance to add a rare dated M-38 to your collection.
