After a few phone calls I discovered that George purchased his locks complete and kit form from Jim Chambers.

 The new spring arrived and I installed it. You'll  have to screw it down a little more adjust it where you want it. 

I put it in so it would not get misplaced or lost.

COLT Lightning pump rifle 40-60-260 marked on barrel flat

The hammer main spring is missing , "I" the FFL am waiting on a new spring to install if it shows up.

The metal appears to have been cleaned up at some time-bluing touched up however the finish is aged in color. It is a rare bird indeed-

Overall condition good

24” Octagonal barrel On either side of the barrel at the frame there are some dings that can be seen in the pictures.

Bore is at I’d say 50% rifling is visible, dark spots, pitting as to be expected with a firearm that was used & of the age it is.

Stock is removed for storage the rifle will come in a old Winchester box this box is not original to the rifle. Wood looks good with bumps –dings-rubs

Rear sight ramp is missing

Gun was purchased by the collector back in the 1960’s and has sat since then.

Action feels tight & the dust cover is present

I recall reading that only 4500+- of these were
