New York's taxpayer thieves of the week!

Here is a funny, first the legislature had to create a rule to audit those they give money to...SO the government can investigate them?? This is what is wrong with giving taxpayer funds to unchecked entities. BPB
####

The former owner of a Queens-based special education provider, who pleaded guilty to fraud charges earlier this year following a joint investigation by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Preet Bharara, was sentenced today to 24 months incarceration and ordered to pay $2,151,318 in restitution and forfeit another $1,924,318.

“Cheon Park enriched himself and deprived children with physical, developmental and emotional disabilities of the help they need,” DiNapoli said. “His conviction today stands as a warning for those who attempt to cheat taxpayers and instead use the money for their personal benefit. I’d like to thank U.S. Attorney Bharara for prosecuting this crime and working with my staff to bring Park to justice and recover stolen taxpayer money.”

In July 2012, DiNapoli’s office issued an audit of Bilingual SEIT & Preschool Inc. that found Park inappropriately charged New York City’s Department of Education for salaries, vehicle leases and items such as cosmetics and children’s furniture. There were also a number of questionable issues related to staff salaries. For a copy of the audit, visit: http://osc.state.ny.us/audits/allaudits/093012/11s13.pdf.

DiNapoli referred the findings to United States Attorney Bharara’s office and worked to prosecute Park and recover the stolen funds. DiNapoli also praised the work of the Special Commissioner of Investigation for New York City’s Department of Education, the Office of Inspector General for the United States Department of Education, and the Queens County District Attorney’s Office for their collaboration in this investigation.

DiNapoli has identified fraud and improper use of taxpayer funds in a recent series of audits and investigations of special education providers, resulting in multiple criminal convictions and the recovery of over $3 million. His office has completed 23 audits of preschool special education providers, finding nearly $23 million in unsupported or inappropriate charges. There are currently 18 additional audits of preschool special education providers in progress.

In December 2013, Governor Cuomo signed legislation – proposed by DiNapoli and sponsored by Sen. John Flanagan and Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan – mandating the Comptroller’s Office audit all of the more than 300 preschool special education providers in this $1.4 billion program by March 31, 2018.

New York Firearms owners, The Dysfunctional Children Let Out to Play. by bpb

It's summer time in New York & the legislature is on vacation it’s also an election year.
Here firearms owners sit and wait on a big event the "repeal of the safe act" or as I call it the "Firearms Ban". SCOPE or NYSRPA will probably get a report out in September. If something fast breaks you'll get an email alert.

For me after 31 years of living, hunting & working here I'm done with NY..Movers were at the house Saturday. Unfortunately I have to return & work for 2 months to collect my severance pay. Yea I've been outsourced to one of potus cronies corporations.
 Getting it done:
I've found that unless you chase every asshole down no one will do anything but dance the dance of "it's not my yob", SORRY.   One big HUGE problem is NY Firearms owners now have a dozen new Groups against the FIREARMS BAN.{{IT'S NOT A SAFE ACT}}.

These groups are sending out to many emails about everything from everywhere. I have placed every one of them on my spam list!!   Then the out of state political propaganda email starts rolling in because those groups are gleaning emails that the well intentioned New Yorkisstan'ers have sent out.

NOW firearms owners are being overwhelmed with dozens of emails a week asking for votes and money. You lost your audience by thinking they wanted to see everything "you" thought was important.  These NY fence post sitter firearms owners were never involved so they had no clue as to what to do.

A few jumped up with visions of a fast kill and a great boost to their personal egos.

Ahh to  find out that it ain’t that easy getting people to follow you without a real plan, on a wing and a prayer. Waving you carbine and quoting from Last Testament.  You were warned, ya didn't listen to some of us. Many of the new and the old Firearm’s groups still use  the antis lingo.  Then to make matters worse they passed on the media distractions to the largest group of oppositional defiant ADD group in America...the "FIREARMS OWNERS"!

Yea its a sad state of affairs which will be repeated in November.

BlackPowderBill ~ Tell Me Again Who Was First?

When Thompson Center first came out with the Encore Muzzle Loader. BlackPowderBill's Reloading Supplies had the first sale in Rochester ,NY. Months before the other Firearms dealers did. I sold two rifles , they were special order , I had my name on T/C's dealer list to receive the first batch out the door.

Back in the early or mid 1980's when I joined the Shooters Committee on Political Education I'd pick up propaganda from SCOPE Monroe county chairman Steve DeMallie. I'd take this material to every gun club and gun shop in Wayne County.
I witnessed another individual receive an award for being the first to do this in Wayne County???

So many people have done so much, yet others forget to mention who it was that first approached them on the subject.  I'm not saying they haven't promoted the cause ...I'm stating the facts.

I once took anti George Pataki SCOPEny.org signs to the gun clubs in Wayne county in protest of his 5-points firearms ban. A few clubs refused to post them in public ...They were afraid it would offend some of the members and local politicians.  So please tell me again who's on our side.

Business cards for the gun club.
Printing events on the back of pizza shop flyer's, they were always blank.

I'll add to this thread as time permits.

Remember BlackPowderBill is relocating to Madison County Georgia in September.
Same email
Same phone number

My "bpbreloading" gunbroker account is running rather slim till after the move and I can unpack items

Feld Entertainment wins $15.75 million from HSUS

Subject: Major Announcement from Feld Entertainment

As most of you know, for more than a decade our company has been engaged in a protracted legal dispute with a number of animal rights organizations over the care of Asian elephants with Ringling Bros. and at the Center for Elephant Conservation.

The trail court ruled in our favor, was upheld on appeal and awarded us attorney’s fees. We also initiated our own civil RICO action against the activist groups and their attorneys for the fraudulent and unethical actions they engaged in throughout the proceedings.  Today we announced a record settlement with the Humane Society of the United States, the Animal Welfare Institute and other groups and their attorneys. They have agreed to pay Feld Entertainment $15.75 million to settle all our claims against them. This of course is in addition to our earlier $9.3 Million settlement with the

ASPCA, bringing the total amount paid to our company to more than $25 Million. A settlement of this size, coupled with multiple court rulings, clearly demonstrates what we have said all along – we are the experts when it comes to caring for Asian elephants and our animal welfare programs are the best in the world. The press release announcing this settlement is attached.

Please share the press release with whomever you feel appropriate and contact me if you have any questions.
