91/30 Mosin
Nagant Tula “sniper” Finnish PU scope Finn SA and D stamped 7.62 x 54r 1943
Finland
Let me start
off by saying that this is NOT an original Finnish PU Sniper rifle. In all
probability, it was put together by the “Wizards” at Century Arms back in the
90’s when they were importing large numbers of rifles from Finland.
This is a 43
dated Tula 91/30 that was captured by the Finns and marked with the Finnish SA
stamp denoting Finnish Army ownership. The receiver is also is “D” stamped. I
wish they wouldn’t have PU’ed this rifle. A 1943 dated, SA stamped 91/30 is
pretty rare in its own right. But they did do a very good job installing the
scope.
This rifle
has a sniper bolt that is numbered to the receiver and the magazine floorplate
and stock are matching. The scope mount is also numbered to the rifle but it
looks like the scope mount number and the importer serial number and the bolt
number all have the same font which is different than the serial number on the
barrel.
It does have
an original PU scope mount and scope. The scope comes with lens covers and a
scope mount cover. They are not reproductions. Century Arms had a bunch of them
back then. They put together “snipers” to get them moving.
