1939 Finnish 91/30, SA stamped , Matching 7.62x54R, Recapture
Collectors Notes:
1939 Finnish 91/30, SA stamped , Matching 7.62x54R, Recapture
This is Recaptured, SA stamped, Finnish 91/30 that was recaptured by the Soviets after it captured by the Finns and SA stamped.
As you know, the Soviet Union put all the 91/30 rifles that survived World War 2, refurbished them and put them in a salt mine in Siberia somewhere waiting of the next war to start. Since WW3 didn’t happen and the old Soviet Union dissolved, the Russians sold off thousands upon thousands of these refurbished 91/30 to us.
This 1939 dated 91/30has an SA stamp indicating that was captured and used by the Finnish Army and recaptured by the Soviets. Being a usable rifle, it went through the refurbishment process and then was shipped over here. No doubt that some refurbed were SA stamped by unscrupulous individuals after import.
But look closely at the SA stamp on this rifle. The color of the finish is the same inside the letters in the SA stamp as the rest of the barrel. You don’t have to take my word that it is a true recapture, look at the picture.
Anyway, other than the SA stamp, this is a standard refurbished 91/30.
All components are electro pencil matched and it comes with a canvas sling and dog collars.
