M-27 Tikka, Finnish, 1939 dated, matching bolt, SA stamped, Finn, Mosin Nagant, Hex receiver, 7.62 X 54r
This is a Finnish 1939 dated Tikka M-27. Only 1300 M-27’s were made in 1939 just before the Winter War started.
This rifle has a matching bolt. It was made on a 1905 dated Tula hex receiver. The stock has the rounded, war time style stock splice with sling slots, a toe splice and a nice “L” in crossed cannons cartouche. The nose cap has the “Popsicle” stick style of stock reinforcements.
It looks to me like the rifle was refinished post war or it was used very little. The rifle is both “SA” stamped and double “D” stamped. There is an assembly number, 1040, on the underside of barrel. The rear sight is of the M-27 type with wings.
