New York Conservation Council Legislative Bills 2017

INFORMATION ON BILLS PENDING IN THE 2017 LEGISLATIVE SESSION IS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE NYSCC WEBSITE.

Legislation that the NYSCC is tracking this session has been updated at www.nyscc.com. A major bills list has been posted, as well as our memorandums on pending legislation.

On the homepage, using the menu on the left side of the screen, select "Legislative Information."

If you know the number of a bill and want to see the bill text and sponsor statement, select "Bill Search."

"Bills of Interest" will give the "Legislative Report - Major Bills 2017" option.  Select it to display the full report.  This report is updated regularly to reflect legislative activity.

"Memo and Statements" will give you access to the Council position memorandums.  If the Major Bills report shows an ACTION of "2017 MEMO," there is a full memorandum.  If it shows "2017 STMT," there is a one or two paragraph synopsis under "BRIEF STATEMENTS" at the end of the list of memorandums.

If you don't know your legislator, now is a good time to get to know him or her.  If you don't know his or her name or contact information, go to assembly.state.ny.us or www.nysenate.gov.  Both sites have a "find my legislator" function.

Contact your legislators and let them know your positions on legislation of concern to you.  Call, write, email or visit their local offices.  We can't impact legislation without active support of New York sportsmen who elect members of the legislature.
